REGULATION 14 CONSULTATION NOTICE
BRERETON NEIGHBOURHOOD DEVELOPMENT PLAN
MODIFICATION PROPOSAL
Notice is hereby given that Brereton Parish Council is undertaking a pre-submission public consultation on the draft Brereton Neighbourhood Development Plan in accordance with Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).
The amended Brereton Neighbourhood Development Plan contains revisions which are proposed to be made to the original Brereton Neighbourhood Plan as part of a modification proposal. The Brereton Neighbourhood Plan has been a part of the adopted development plan since 29 March 2016.
About the Neighbourhood Plan
The Brereton Neighbourhood Plan covers the designated neighbourhood area of Brereton, as approved by Cheshire East Council on 13 June 2013, prior to the original Brereton Neighbourhood Plan being ‘made’ in 2016. Following a period of review, Brereton Parish Council is proposing a number of revisions to the plan to ensure that its policies remain relevant, effective and compliant with local and national planning policy. The following documents have been published in order to demonstrate the proposed changes:

• Draft Brereton Neighbourhood Plan – Tracked Changes Document
Consultation Period
The consultation will run from the following dates:
Monday 16th February 2026 to Tuesday 7th April 2026
Representations must be received by 17:00 on Tuesday 7th April 2026.

The draft plan and supporting documents are available:

Comments are invited on the modifications proposed to the Neighbourhood Plan, as best illustrated within the Tracked Changes Document.

Anonymous comments will not be accepted.
What Happens Next?
Following the consultation, all representations will be considered and the Plan may be amended. The final Neighbourhood Plan modification proposal will then be submitted to Cheshire East Council.
